Jeremie Frimpong to Liverpool is drawing ever closer as the Dutch international has landed in the UK to complete his transfer.

By now, most Liverpool fans are aware of the club’s interest in Frimpong.

The Dutchman has evolved into one of Europe’s most dynamic full-backs under Xabi Alonso at Leverkusen, racking up four goals and 12 assists in 35 league appearances.

Shortly after it was confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, there were widespread reports that the Reds had identified Frimpong as the long-term option for the right-back position.

DaveOCKOP was among the first to exclusively confirm the Reds’ interest, while also providing details of his release clause, which was one of the key factors driving Liverpool’s interest in the Bayer Leverkusen man.

His €35 million (£30 million) release clause is notably below his estimated market value, and the structure of this clause allows payment in four instalments, making the initial outlay particularly attractive given Frimpong’s quality and profile.

We also revealed that Frimpong has also passed his Liverpool medical, and now the 24-year-old has landed in the UK to complete his move to Anfield.

A video uploaded by Sky Sports on Tuesday confirmed the Dutch international’s arrival to the UK, ahead of offically becoming a Red.

Liverpool fans will now be hoping that the transfer of Florian Wirtz will follow suit, as the club and Bayer Leverkusen are said to be moving fast in their negotiations for the attacking midfielder.
